Dende takes over as the God of Earth after Kami-Sama merges with Piccolo. Dende is first introduced to Gokou by the elders in Planet Namek as the most talented DragonBall master at the time, and he has the ability of creating and controlling more powerful DragonBalls. Dende is brought to Earth when Krillin and Gohan save his life from Freeza, and Dende quickly creates a new set of even more powerful DragonBalls, which has the ability to grant three wishes instead of one. Apart from being the DragonBall master, he also has the ability to heal others. Dende is an important role later on in DragonBall Z as the one who heals the critically injured Z fighters and bring them back healthy again.
